Jean Domat, or Daumat^[1] (30 November 1625 – 14 March 1696) was a French jurist.

Life

Domat was born at Clermont force Auvergne.^[2] He studied the humaniora in Paris, where he befriended Blaise Pascal, and later document at the University of Bourges.
